Our team can handle a variety of traumatic dental injuries:

  • Dislodged Teeth – If your tooth has been dislodged, your treatment depends on the integrity of the pulp tissue. Your general dentist may be able to simply reposition your tooth. However, if the pulp is infected or damaged in some way, you will need root canal treatment to save the tooth.
  • Knocked Out (Avulsed) Teeth – It’s important to act immediately if you have knocked out a tooth. Place the tooth in a glass of milk or saliva to keep it moist or, if you can, place it back in the tooth socket. Your endodontist may be able to perform a root canal to restore the tooth. The length of time the tooth was out of your mouth will affect your treatment options.
  • Injuries in Children – If your child’s immature tooth is injured, our practice offers two treatments: apexogenesis and apexification. Apexogenesis promotes root growth while healing the pulp. Apexification removes diseased or injured pulp and applies medication to harden tissue near the root, allowing for a root canal procedure.

If possible, it’s advisable to first get in touch with your general dentist. In some cases, your primary dentist can help restore your natural teeth. They may refer you to our office for more complex injuries. Once you get in touch with our team, we’ll identify the next best steps.

There’s no reason to feel nervous about any of our treatments. Your mouth will be numbed, so you won’t feel a thing during the procedure. Our team is highly experienced in providing comfortable care. You can also receive sedation, if desired.
